Lance Snacks/Team Rensi Motorsports Quick Facts
Pike's Peak International Raceway - July 22, 2000

STEADY AS SHE GOES: The Team Rensi Motorsports Lance Snacks Chevrolet team remained in 13th place in the NASCAR Busch Series owner point standings following its 23rd place finish in the EconoLodge 200 at Nazareth (Pa.) Speedway last Sunday. It is 28 points ahead of its nearest competitor, the 92 team, and is 83 points behind the 12th place 37 team.

HIS FIRST VICTORY: Lance Snacks Chevrolet driver Andy Santerre returns this week to the site of his first and only NASCAR Busch Series career triumph, the one-mile Pike's Peak International Raceway. Santerre started 20th, but battled eventual series champion Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in the final 20 laps and took the lead for good with 15 laps remaining before taking the checkered flag.

THAT WINNING FEELING: Upon returning to their home in Harrisburg, N.C., following his victory at Pike's Peak, Santerre and wife Sue found a little surprise. Their house had been decorated in toilet paper by the neighbors as a sign of affection and congratulations for the couple. Santerre said he had to clean it up himself, but that he'd gladly do it all over again if he could defend his title at Pike's Peak.

SANTERRE ON PIKE'S PEAK: "It seems like it's been a long time since last year, but we're going back there with high hopes. That car we're running has been a good car for us, and hopefully we'll have a shot at winning again. You just have to have a fast race car out there. You run a lot of laps under green out there, so you need to set up for some long runs. That's where we've been all year, good on long runs. It's a good race track, and hopefully we can get this thing turned around."

ELY ON PIKE'S PEAK: "This is another one of those Busch tracks I've never been to. I went there on my honeymoon, but that's about it. We are taking our best car there, the one that we ran at Milwaukee. It's a car that Andy's run really well with every place he's gone. We're looking at going with pretty much the same package he ran with last year. I think with that and with Andy having won there last year, we're looking to be pretty successful at Pike's Peak."

WALLACE BACK: Lance Snacks Chevrolet driver Kenny Wallace will be back behind the wheel of the No. 25 Monte Carlo next week at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. Santerre will drive at Indianapolis the following week, then Wallace will be back in the seat for the remainder of the season with the exception of the Oct. 29 race at Memphis Motorsports Park.
